Dacre Montgomery Cast in “The Broken Heart Gallery”

Up-and-comers Geraldine Viswanathan (Blockers), Dacre Montgomery (Stranger Things) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (The Mindy Project) have signed on to star in romantic comedy The Broken Heart Gallery, Natalie Krinsky’s directorial debut.

In a boost for the project, which Endeavor Content will be shopping to buyers in Cannes next week, Selena Gomez has come on board as an executive producer, reuniting with her 13 Reasons Why exec producer partner Mandy Teefey.

No Trace Camping, a producer on Oscar-winner Room and sports comedy Goon, will finance and produce The Broken Heart Gallery. David Gross, Jesse Shapira, Jeff Arkuss and Mason Novick will produce the feature, which starts shooting in August.

Krinsky also penned the screenplay to Broken Heart Gallery, which follows Lucy (Viswanathan), a collector who suffers a bad breakup with her boyfriend and boss at the Whitney Museum (Ambudkar). Unsure of what to do with the items love left behind, she curates The Broken Heart Gallery in the lobby of a kind stranger’s hotel (Montgomery). Krinsky’s writing credits include Gossip Girl and Grey’s Anatomy, and she recently adapted Gillian Flynn’s The Grown Up for Universal Pictures.

Viswanathan starred in Kay Cannon-directed comedy Blockers and most recently in Minhal Baig’s coming-of-age drama, Hala, which was picked up by Apple after its Sundance premiere. She also starred in the TBS series Miracle Workers alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi and appears opposite Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney in Cory Finley’s upcoming Bad Education.

Montgomery, best known for his role as Billy Hargrove in Netflix’s Stranger Things, also starred in Lionsgate’s Power Rangers film.

Ambudkar starred opposite Jillian Bell in Brittany Runs a Marathon, which won this year’s Audience Award in Sundance and was acquired by Amazon, which will release it in August. He’ll appear alongside Jodie Comer, Taika Waititi and Ryan Reynolds in Shawn Levy’s action comedy Free Guy and co-stars in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Mulan, both of which come out next year.

Viswanathan and Montgomery are both repped by WME and 3 Arts Entertainment. Viswanathan is also repped by Mollison Keightley Management in Australia. Ambudkar is repped by Gersh and 3 Arts Entertainment. Krinsky is repped by WME and Gotham Group.
